Reflection 3: “In Faith”
Encyclical Redemptoris Mater “Mother of the Redeemer”

Reflection Introduction
How would you respond if you were visited by an angel from God today? An appearance that would radically change you beyond your wildest imagination. Mary’s response we heard in our last reflection provides for us great hope and deep reflection on the Holy Spirit and Mission. Mary responds in great faith. Her faith witness’ to the acceptance of God’s will in her life. A response provided through the Holy Spirit.
Saint John Paul II states that Mary “moved by charity [God’s love]” goes to visit her cousin Elizabeth. God’s love through the Holy Spirit is what sends us into the world to bring the ‘Good News’ to others. Elizabeth encounters Jesus through Mary’s presence and exclaims, “blessed is the fruit of your womb!” (Lk 1:42) This reflection is to help you see how Mary is here to help you with your call in the Church’s mission. Let’s see why!
Today’s three points for reflection.
Reflection 1: Mary’s faith is proclaimed by Elizabeth for us to hear.
Reflection 2: In faith, Mary devotes herself to the work of her son, Jesus.
Reflection 3: In faith, Mary instructs us to listen to her son, Jesus.
