Forming Intentional Disciples

“Fruitful Discipleship”

Part 2

There is alot that happens within someone’s journey with Jesus Christ between “Come and See” (Jn 1:39) and “Go and make disciples” (Matt 28:19). The Gospel message is heard, personal decisions are made, transformation into the holiness God desires for us begins, repentance occurs, and one’s desire to share this with others begins to grow. But God knows that we are not cable of doing all of this on our own. It is His grace which he provides in and through the Holy Spirt that transforms us. Here is what the Catechism of the Catholic Church teaches us about this transformation:

“he must have the interior helps of the Holy Spirit, who moves the heart and converts it to God, who opens the eyes of the mind and makes it easy for all to accept and believe the truth.” (CCC 153)

Reflect for a moment:

To help the parish foster discipleship, please share what you think might be some opportunities the Pastoral Council and parish ministries can offer that help people awaken to a more personal relationship with Jesus Christ?

If you would like to share your thoughts you can send them to me through the form below.
